New Patient Office Appointments
New patient office appointments are typically made on a referral basis by your primary care doctor or a doctor currently treating you. We do see some self referral patients with insurance that does not require a referral. Generally, we try to see new patients timely and within a week of the referral when possible. In critical situations, we will make every effort to see a new patient as soon as possible.
Your Office Appointment
Please bring to your appointment:
- The actual x-ray films (MRI,CT or plain film) taken as well as the x-ray report relating to your visit with us.
- Specific test results (EMG, etc) relating to your visit.
- Referring doctor's records or office notes and/or ER sheet.
- Your current medications.
- All Insurance cards/information.
- Plan to pay your co-pay or deductible at each visit. If you have a medical problem that needs immediate attention, please describe your problem to us in detail so we may contact the physician. An immediate visit may be scheduled or you may be advised to proceed directly to the Emergency Room.
Your appointment may be subject to change due to an emergency or prolonged surgery. We certainly strive to schedule your appointment at times the physician should be in the office. Unfortunately, the physician nor the office staff can always accurately predict delays or emergency care. Our physicians make every effort to see the patients on the days they are scheduled. Our office has the only Neurosurgeons in Columbus and the immediate region surrounding Columbus that take Emergency Room call. Often times, patients in outlying areas may be transferred here for immediate life threatening care to include emergency surgery. We ask for your patience and understanding in the event your appointment is rescheduled or your wait time is excessive. We do understand the frustration you may have should this occur.
